Happy autumn, everyone!

So I was being nosy and looking at some pictures my mom took at the beach a few weekends ago.  Much to my delight, look what I found! 

And to think these wouldn't be shared if I didn't sneak in there (because I know she doesn't have time to work on her personal stuff).  I don't know about you, but I want a big one in my room.

Erica...

Audrey & Mary Virginia...

Audrey & have been best friends since kindergarden so no wonder they wanted to do their senior photo sessions together!  When we do two sessions together, mom (Cindy) & I go back and forth as we switch who shoots who where with what when.   I love shooting with my mom and the girls love being together, helping and urging each other on....so those sessions always turn out to be so much fun.  Both girls are dancers, both are beautiful, both are photogenic and both are easy to be around.  Yet each is very unique in their personalities

Can't wait to have yall back at the studio to show you the rest!   :) Maari

  

Claire !

     I'd like to see the Trojan Belle's perform together.  They've got to be awesome!  We've been staggered at the leaping, jumping, spinning and dancing ability of them as we've met some of these amazing dancers at their senior sessions...so seeing them perform together has got to be great! 

     Claire is not only a fabulous dancer, she's a bundle of fun  - full of laughs and smiles - but with a relaxed confidence about her!   I photographed Claire just before school started, in the midst of all this Austin heat, and she didn't seem to even notice.  I hope this sneak peak on our blog will let her know how anxious I am to show her the rest of her images!  See you soon Claire!

 

Kirby

      Kirby's session was definitely full of surprises.   We saw a snake making his was along the edge of the stream across the water from us (way too close for me - and Kirby - even tho he was at least 50 feet from us!).  A friendly dog swam across the stream to say hi.....his swimming ability was very impressive because he only had 3 legs!  And while playing in the tall grasses at St Ed's park a man on a spotted horse trotted up to us and said hello!  Oh, and kirby was chased by at least 2 bugs!~  She was a great sport thru it all tho - not even seeming to mind the early morning session on one of her last few days of summer!  

                    

  

   

Morgan!

Another session that was so hard to narrow down!  I have tons of favorites from Morgan's shoot so below are only a handful.  We had a beautiful morning to work in, thankfully since Morgan and her mom came all the way up from Dripping Springs.

What else we've been up to....

    Most of the time, we post our senior sessions on this blog - occasionally our family sessions, and even a few cute little newborn babies.  I thought it was about time you saw a sampling of a few of the OTHER things we've been up to lately!  We like diversity...a little variety in what we see on the other end of our camera lens.  Sooooo, here's an idea of what we've been doing these last few weeks besides seniors and our trip last week to Dallas to attend a great business seminar.......

   About 2 weeks ago we spent the afternoon at the Warrior bowl, photographing Westwood football players ...even had the opportunity to shoot the cover for their program!  And despite the 100+ degree heat on the field for football photo day.....the players were calm and their coaches an invaluable help!

The cheerleaders of Westwood are a great group.  They spent a morning at the studio smiling and laughing & doing what cheerleaders do. Later that day we meet up with them again to take a group photograph all together.  Right after this photograph they kicked off their 2009-2010 season with a family picnic.

     We love to photograph volleyball teams!  The girls & their coaches are sooo creative and come up with awesome themes to plan their whole season around...from their game shirts, to their team spirit...and we have the opportunity to creatively pull it all together in a fun  poster.  I think the teams this year have been the most creative ever!

For the last 3 years we've been involved with the March of Dimes Signature Chef event.  Our part of this wonderful fund raising foundation is the best part, we think!   We're asked to photograph the wonderful chef's from around Austin who donate their services and their restaurant to help raise money. Last year's gala raised almost $100,000 for the March of Dimes.   This year's gala has 15 Chef's involved.....here are just a couple ....more to come!!! The gala's theme for this year is  "New York, New York" so each chef is using apples (remember the red apple logo of new york??) to tie into the gala New York theme.

and yes, we do get to photograph some realy cute newborn babies!  This is Henley, the newest member of Brad & Kim's family!

Sweet Samantha.....

     I photographed Samantha's sister a few years ago, so it was great to see Samantha again!  Sam's got the greatest hair - lots of gorgeous curls that don't seem to mind heat, humidity or me fiddling with it before an image.  I've found that most people with straight hair want curls, and those w/curls - straighten.   Not so with Samantha - she never seemed to even worry about hair!   Awesome!    I'll see you later this week Samantha! I'm a little behind in blogging, as it was a week or so ago that I photographed Samantha...I'll see you later this week at the studio!

 

Ty...

Ty is a relaxed kind of guy, which makes him fun to photograph.  I think one of his passions's is Lacrosse - he has great goals for this sport - I have a feeling he's going to be an awesome player in college.  One more year of high school lacrosse....I could tell he's looking forward to it.  But on the day of his senior pictures, he was nothing short of layed back - and that made our photo session lots of fun! 

Katy!

Well, I just got back from a very educational 3-day workshop in Dallas where we talked non-stop all-things-photography/small business with 15 studios and 3 amazing leaders of the photography industry, Anne Monteith, Julia Woods & Carol Andrews.  We are excited to be back and ready to implement some great tips on which they lectured. 

But in the meantime, I've been anxious to blog Katy (and several others...) and now I'm finally able!  To me, Katy looks like (and talks like and giggles like) Anne Hathaway.  Don't you agree?  She is beautiful!   We have an excellent gallery of images from this shoot of which I'm excited to share with her soon....
